Marc Matthews & Associates has been selling homes on the Central Coast for 15 years. Two people, one patch, and a way of working that has not changed much.

Marc moved to the Central Coast when he was nine. So did his wife Carron.
Before real estate there was sport. Marc competed at the highest level as a player, then moved into coaching and became a head coach, and both took him to clubs right across the Coast. He has sponsored local clubs and charities throughout his career since.
He has been in real estate for 32 years and has run his own business for 29 of them. Before this he owned Richardson & Wrench at Umina Beach, and at Bensville and Empire Bay. Fifteen years ago he started Marc Matthews & Associates, independently owned and family run.
Meg finished school at Green Point Christian College in 2014 and went straight into real estate, following Marc into the family business. A love of houses and helping people has been there from the start. Outside the office, Meg has competed in equestrian at a high level right across the country, judged competitions and volunteered at local sport.
When an opportunity came up on the Peninsula, we opened an office on West Street at Umina Beach. Through Covid the business expanded to cover the whole Central Coast, which is where it works today.
Thirty-two years on, Marc still does the appraisals. Marc or Meg still runs every inspection. And we still tell people the number we can defend rather than the number that wins the listing.
We have had the chance to grow. Take on agents, keep the office, put more names on the signboard.
We have not, because the thing people tell us they value is the thing that disappears when you do. The person who valued your home should be the person at the open home and the person who calls you afterwards. Once there are eight agents and a roster, that stops being true.
Two people means we take on fewer homes. It also means nobody hands you off.
We had a shopfront on West Street for years. We closed it, and we are not opening another one.
Buyers have not walked into a real estate office in a long time. They are on their phones, and they were already on their phones when we were paying rent on a window nobody stopped at.
What an office does is cost money, and that money comes from somewhere. Usually the seller’s fee. Ours is 1.85% with marketing included, and not running a shopfront is a large part of why.

The easiest way to work out whether we are the right fit is to have us out for an appraisal. No obligation, no pressure.
